Tiny Toez Day Nurseries

Safety

All our nurseries have secure entry systems, most commonly with a password. This ensures that only staff and parents or carers can come in – and the children can’t slip out. Everyone else has to ring the bell and be checked by a member of staff.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding, or keeping children safe from harm, is something we take very seriously. All our staff members have been DBS checked, and have completed Child Protection training. We have a Designated Safeguarding Lead at every nursery. We have information about how to report a concern displayed prominently in every nursery (and on this website). We do regular rcourses and work in partnership with local organisations to ensure important information about children is shared appropriately. We will always listen to any concerns you choose to share.

It is of course essential that you can trust us with your child’s physical safety. That means we are responsible for the excellent maintenance of the building and outside areas. Security, fire exits and drills, electrical testing, risk assessments and identifying hazards are all part of what we do. Our nursery teams are well trained to understand their responsibilities and take compliance very seriously. You can ask the nursery manager if you have any specific questions or concerns about this.

Most of our nurseries have their own fully equipped kitchen and cooked lunches are provided there every day. Please ask the nursery you are interested in for its individual arrangements regarding lunches.

All the food we provide at a Tiny Toez nursery, whether a meal or a snack, is planned to be healthy and nutritious. We aim to provide a balanced diet, with a strong emphasis on fruit and vegetables. We help the children to make good food choices, and encourage them in their independence by introducing self-serve with the older children. We sit with the children as they eat so as to make the meal a sociable occasion. Children are always supervised when eating.

If your child has any dietary preferences or requirements, please do take the opportunity to discuss this with a member of the team when you visit us. We can accommodate food allergies and most requirements. Our staff members have all been trained in Food Hygiene.

We encourage children at our nurseries to eat healthily, and take good care of their teeth. We only provide water and milk to drink, and we offer a wide range of fruit and vegetables at mealtimes. We talk with the children about teeth brushing, and visiting the dentist. We discourage sweets and sweetened drinks from being brought into nursery.

All our permanent staff members are trained in Paediatric First Aid, and are required to refresh their training every three years. We are committed to your child’s safety and well-being. Any bump or slip that happens with us is reported, so you can feel confident in our openness. If you child falls ill during their nursery day we will contact you and let you know, so that you can make arrangements to collect them. We will take gentle care of them while we wait for you.
