At Tiny Toez @ East Valley they absolutely love books and have thoroughly enjoyed celebrating World Book Week leading up to World Book Day on Thursday 6th March.
To celebrate the children in the Baby Room have enjoyed exploring “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” messy tray for World Book Day. They loved filling and emptying bowls with porridge oats, engaging in a wonderful sensory experience through scooping and sprinkling.
The little ones also enjoyed role-playing, pretending to feed the bears and imitating the staff as they took on the roles of Goldilocks and the Bears.
This activity allowed them to explore the emotions of the bears as they discovered the items that Goldilocks had used and broken. 🐻🐻🐻
In the Little Toez room they have used the Little People, Big Dreams books and the famous person in them as inspiration for their activities.
The children particularly enjoyed our Marcus Rashford and Albert Einstein inspired activities. They made fruit kebabs based on Marcus Rashford’s campaigning against food poverty and his healthy eating as a professional footballer. This showed brilliant fine motor skills as they put the fruit onto the skewers.🍎🍉🍇
They also did an Albert Einstein inspired water play activity where they experimented with different colours and smells with oranges, lemons and various herbs. They thoroughly enjoyed emptying and filling the measuring containers and sorting the lemons and oranges.🍋🍊
Finally, the children in the Pre School-Room had a fantastic time exploring the story “Stick Man” by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.
They loved collecting sticks and leaves to create their very own stick men. The children are also sharing their thoughts about the story and excitedly repeating familiar phrases like, “I’m not a stick! Why can’t you see, I’m Stick Man! That’s me!” 🪵🌿🪵🌿
It’s wonderful to see their enthusiasm for storytelling!
It’s been a busy a week full of curiosity, creativity and enjoying the magic of storytelling 🤩🤩
